The (Content) King is Dead, Long Live the King

The sacred motto "content is king" has become the Emperor's New Clothes of the search world. On one hand, not holding to that tradition seemingly endorses the often times shady world of linking; but on the other hand, who hasn’t heard people say:

“I keep hearing that content is king, and my content is the absolute best anywhere online; but I can’t find it on Google! I built a dozen microsites, but it still isn’t ranking. What’s the problem?”

The goal of this SEO presentation is to step back from the sacredness of the content camp, and the chum of link tricks and tactics, to provide a fresh, contextual understanding of how the Google Algorithm has evolved over the last year and a half; to better understand how you can more effectively provide the content Google will crown.
